How we write and review renter guidance

Practical documentation, with a clear scope

Our guides explain ways to organize photos and factual notes. They are for renters, including first-time renters and people in shared student apartments. We do not assess individual liability, promise refunds or provide personalized legal advice.

Sources and dates

We link to primary government, court or official documentation when discussing rules or legal help. State-specific rules must be labeled for that state and checked before publication. We avoid treating a rule from one jurisdiction as a nationwide rule. Each article identifies its publisher and publication or update date. An update date changes when the content is substantively reviewed or revised, not simply when the page is rebuilt.

Examples and experience

Synthetic images and fictional notes are labeled. A product test can support a statement about the tested workflow, but it is not evidence of customer outcomes. We do not invent testimonials, professional credentials, traffic numbers, savings, landlord behavior or case results. Public reviews are allegations or individual reports, not established facts about every resident.

AI-assisted content and incoming articles

AI may help outline or draft content. Imported articles enter a private review queue. They are not indexed or included in the public blog or Sitemap until approved. An update also waits for review; the existing published version remains visible in the meantime.

The reviewer checks intent, factual claims, official sources, link destinations, image rights, privacy, product accuracy and overlap with existing pages. Legal deadlines and strong claims need source checks, not just fluent language. A topical keyword is not enough reason to publish a page.

Corrections and maintenance

Use the feedback route to flag a statement and explain the issue. Include the article URL and relevant public source, without private tenancy material. We prioritize errors that could mislead renters, then revise or withdraw content as appropriate. Related pages should be reviewed together when product behavior changes.

No ranking promises

Guides are written to help people complete a real task. Search visibility, structured data and a Sitemap do not guarantee indexing, rankings or deposit outcomes.
